I have been doing this since my first year. It started out of curiosity and has ended up taking a serious part of my degree, almost always from a secretary’s chair.

President of the Student Council of the University of Zaragoza

The representative body for the whole student population of the university. It coordinates the faculty delegations and sits on the governing bodies.

Secretary of ANEM

Spanish national association of mathematics students · July 2025 to July 2026

My main piece of work has been the reform of the internal regulations. I drafted most of it and the working group reviewed it, argued about it and contributed in several places. One decision I am reasonably happy with was keeping the agreement on funding attendance outside the regulations, precisely so that no university can invoke it as a rule in order to stop paying for it.

Secretary of the Faculty of Science student delegation

since October 2022

Minutes, accounts, and splitting the cost of activities, which eventually turned into a tool because doing it by hand gets it wrong. A good part of the job has been automating and ordering what was neither: the minutes, the archive, the accounts and the splitting each followed their own criterion, and now they follow one.

Meetings

I was on the organising committee of the XXIV ENEM in Badajoz, though I joined late and did not live through the whole organisation. I contributed substantially and I also attended, which are two different things worth stating separately. For that meeting I built the first version of the event check-in tool and the private room lookup.

I also volunteered at the European Congress of Mathematics in Seville in 2024, and have attended the general assemblies and national meetings since 2023.

Committees

Quality assurance, teaching evaluation, undergraduate studies, faculty board and department council, on all of them as a student representative. Every line in this list is dull on its own, but together they represent five years sitting in the rooms where it is decided how a degree, or a lecturer, gets evaluated.
